MEET OUR CEO
CHRIS RUANE
C. Ruane was born and raised in Redwood City, CA. He spent the majority of his time in San Jose, CA with coaching at Gunderson High School #LLCC and playing Semi-Pro Football. Ruane created the California Buckeyes team in 2022, they won their first PCFL Championship that year. Ruane was also the Vice President of the PCFL.
Ruane played Football throughout his entire life. Winning multiple Championships. It was a passion of his, and he loved playing the sport. A lot of people know him for his special #46 and the best Long Snapper to ever play the game. Fun fact, Chris wore #1, and #6 (High School Jersey's), #13 (In honor of his mom's birthday), and #47 for one time during a Championship. Ruane was voted into the Hall of Fame in 2024.
In September 2024 Ruane passed away. Leaving lots of broken hearts, and precious memories. His legacy will continue, he will always be remembered, and we will always carry him in our hearts.

A Winning Tradition
We ‘ve worked hard to create an environment to give talented athletes the opportunities to do what they love in a positive setting. Sportsmanship, integrity and loyalty are always emphasized as we continue to promote the California Buckeyes championship tradition.
The Team
Real football experience is hard to find when you’re searching for it at the semipro or minor league levels of football. We aim to find those players and develop them into something more.
2024 CFCA Season
We ended the 2024 season with a final record of 6-4, not the outcome we would’ve liked, but a winning season nonetheless!
2023 CFCA Season
We finished our 2023 season with an overall record of 10-1 after coming up short in the CFCA Championship, 21-19. Onward and upward to 2024!
2022 PCFL Champions
We finished our 2022 season as Pacific Coast Football League Champions, winning 14-10 in a hard-fought battle against the formerly undefeated Capital City Fury of Sacramento. Champions forever!
